Young Peoples Concert

The JSO presents at least two free concerts for area fifth grade students every spring. The concerts and coinciding in-classroom visits by JSO musicians introduce these young audiences to the instruments and sounds of the orchestra. Teachers interested in bringing students to these concerts should call the JSO office early in the school year.

Attention Teachers

The JSO is a PA Dept of Education Approved Provider, one of only 3 PA symphonies so designated. The programs currently approved to provide Act 48 credits to teachers are:

• participation in the Opera Festival Student Workshop, held each fall in conjunction with the Opera Festival concert;
• participation in the Johnstown Symphony Chorus throughout the season;
• accompanying the fifth grade students to the Young Peoples' concerts presented on an April morning annually.
