The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra closes its season with one of the most thrilling and powerful works ever written for orchestra and chorus: Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
From the electrifying opening of “O Fortuna” to its unforgettable final moments, Carmina Burana is a musical spectacle that must be experienced live. Driven by pounding rhythms, soaring voices, and dramatic intensity, Orff’s masterpiece explores the timeless themes of fate, fortune, love, and the joy of life.
For this extraordinary season finale, more than 100 voices of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra Chorus, under the direction of Jeffrey Webb, will join the orchestra on stage. They will be joined by Johnstown native soprano Nicole Khouzami, tenor Shawn Roth, and bass Christopher Herbert, along with singers from the Frostburg State University Choir and the University of Pittsburgh–Johnstown Choir, creating a powerful wall of sound that will fill the hall.
