Welcome to "Inclined to Sing," the vibrant youth chorus of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, where young voices ignite the stage with harmony and joy!
Designed for ages Kindergarten- 9th Grade, this dynamic ensemble offers a welcoming space for budding vocalists to explore their passion for music in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Inclined to Sing New Member Orientation; September 2nd, 7pm on ZOOM!
Whether you’re already signed up or just curious, this orientation is a great chance for singers and families to meet our director, learn about our season, and get a feel for what it’s like to be part of this joyful and inclusive ensemble.
We’ll go over rehearsal schedules, performance opportunities, expectations, and how we make music fun while building vocal skills and confidence. No auditions are required—just a love of singing!

Meet Our Director, Emily Roy
Emily Roy, is the Director of Music and Organist for Resurrection and St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Parishes. She also serves as Cantor for St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Brownstown. This Summer she was honored to be hired by the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra as the Inclined to Sing Youth Chorus Director. Emily holds a Professional Music Director Certification through the Sacred Music Institute of America, where she has studied organ with Dr. Jason Keefer, Dr. David Baskeyfield, and Brendan Conner, and voice with Rachel Parfenchuk. She currently studies voice with Jeffrey Webb and sings with the Johnstown Symphony Chorus under his direction. For the past couple of years she has been working as a Teacher’s Assistant for Music Theory classes offered through the Sacred Music Institute of America. She also offers private piano and organ lessons. Emily is the daughter of Roger and Terri Roy and has three older siblings and four little nephews. Aside from making music, Emily loves spending time with family and friends, baking, and reading.
