Volunteering with the JSO

Become a JSO Usher!

The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra depends on a dedicated team of volunteer ushers to create a welcoming and seamless concert experience for our patrons. Ushers are often the first friendly faces our audience members see, setting the tone for an evening of music, community, and connection.

From greeting guests and helping them find their seats, to distributing programs and answering questions, our ushers play a vital role in ensuring that every concertgoer feels cared for and supported. Your presence makes a direct impact on the success of our performances and the enjoyment of our audience.

Why Volunteer as an Usher?

  • Be part of a vibrant community that celebrates music and the arts.

  • Experience world-class performances while serving in a meaningful way.

  • Meet fellow music lovers and contribute to the cultural life of Johnstown.

Important Information
Because our concerts welcome audience members of all ages, ushering volunteers are required to complete Pennsylvania child protection clearances. These clearances are free for volunteers and help ensure a safe, family-friendly environment for everyone in attendance.

If you are enthusiastic, reliable, and enjoy helping others, we would love to have you join our ushering team!
