The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra returns to the stunning Grand Halle for an unforgettable evening of music that blends the elegance of the Baroque with the soul of jazz. The program features Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 132, Mvt. III , Handel’s luminous Passacaglia in G for Strings, and Bach’s towering Chaconne, performed by JSO Concertmaster Maureen Conlon Gutierrez as soloist.
The evening also highlights Maestro James Blachly’s earliest orchestral composition, Passacaglia, and closes with selections from Charlie Parker with Strings, one of the most influential jazz albums of all time, featuring Johnstown’s own Daniel Hutton on saxophone.
